RICHMOND RIVERFEST

The first inaugural Richmond Riverfest was held in April and May of 2023 led by BRRVLN and focused on the Upper Richmond catchment. In 2024 the Richmond Riverfest expanded as a broader Richmond catchment collaborative venture led by Richmond Riverkeeper with numerous partner organisations including BRRVLN. In 2025 the momentum grew again with 33 events between 28th of September and 26th of October. The program offered something for everyone - riparian tree plantings, workshops, carp musters, creek paddles, panel discussions, and riverside picnics and festivals.

We look forward to expanding the program even further in 2026. If you have an idea for a river themed community event for the Richmond Riverfest 2026 - reach out to landcare.support@brrvln.org.au

Richmond River Ecological Health Program

Monitoring riparian condition, water quality and river health using macroinvertebrates (water bugs), the Richmond River Ecological Health Program provides publicly available ongoing riparian and ecological river health information for the Richmond River and its waterways and catchment.

This program has been underway since 2023, conducting water quality monitoring activities with community-based volunteers widely distributed across the Richmond catchment every Spring and Autumn.
