The first Upper Richmond Riverfest was held in April and May of 2023. In 2024 BRRVLN will be part of the broader Richmond River Festival organised by Riverkeeper

Workshops/Field Days

• Tue 4th April Understanding Erosion and Riverbank Rehabilitation Managing riverbank erosion and rehabilitation along Roseberry Creek and the Richmond River. Covering river reach assessment tools, prioritising and implementing works, erosion control structures, planning and permits.

• Sat 15th April Community Tree Planting along Back Creek Come along and join the festivities of a community effort to support fish habitat and repair the riparian zone of Back Creek. 900 trees will go in the ground!

• Tue 18th April Community Tree Planting along Fawcetts Creek Join us to give some TLC to our river system in planting 500 trees along Fawcett’s Creek

• Fri 21st April to Sun 23rd April Ridge to River: Border Ranges Regen Campout with bushtekniq

• Sun 14th May Community Supported Tree Planting along Collins Creek 2000 trees to be planted! Part of Casino Food Co-op’s River Crystal Initiative

• Thu 18th May Multispecies Pastures and Dung Beetles Collins Creek A demonstration of different winter multi species pasture mixes and advice on establishing dung beetles, including a new winter species

• Sat 20th May Baluun Yarning River Stories #2 The Risk Hall Listen to and speak with river experts and passionate locals. Share your stories, experiences and hopes for the river.

• Wed 24th May Reviving and Restoring Wetlands on the Floodplains Morning presentation at Kyogle Senior Centre; Afternoon field trip to wetland site at Cedar Point

• Sat 27th May Baluun Yarning River Stories #3 KMI Hall Kyogle Listen to and speak with river experts and passionate locals. Share your stories, experiences and hopes for the river.

• Tue 30th May Riverbank Rehabilitation A field day covering riparian restoration, erosion management, supporting good fish habitat, and the processes involved in doing best practice long lasting in-stream works.
